    yes, the bottom guy is a #cydippid, genus #Mertensid ! Can not be certain the blobby up top is a ctenophore... ( :

    I missed the two blurry tentacles and called this a lobate. I thought the upper guy was a protist.

    There are no tentacles visible. Cydippids are (unfortunately for us) able to retract their tentacles completely! And, unfortunately for us,

    Lobates have got two branching tentacles during their 'cydippid-like' larval stage, so they can be easily confused in any life stage! 😦

    Don't worry so much when you confuse them, they're close relatives and the scientists are aware of these difficulties 😃
