What's going on here? I see one #larvacean, maybe two, and what could be eggs?

Neat! I see 2 larvaceans as well. They are overlapping/adjacent to what is either a colony of #protist or #marinesnow. Cannot tell which

Are the #larvacean eating it?

Not likely... larvaceans use their larvacean house as a filter to actively beat in food particles to collect on the mucous house

Why are so many #larvaceans swimming around without #houses? Do they build new ones?

Yes, good question ! They make, discard, and remake the house throughout the day

Also sometimes new houses are so transparent that they are not visible to the camera. The collected particles is what makes them visible

Whoa, throughout the day? It seems like it would take so much longer to build!

But that colonial mass of 'cell-like' guys is a #protist colony. no need to mark those guys
