Beroida

About any small white squiggle looks like a beroida to me. Is there some kind of minimum size for them?

They're usually at least 5-10 times the size of a copepod. Typically very opaque. We usually distinguish them by their cilia hairs on one end.

#Beroida are usually large - they consume copepods and even lobate ctenophores! Here is a pretty great video of a beroida swallowing another ctenophore http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1xkNPp6mzzI

Thanks for your answers. It means I've been doing it wrong, but I'll avoid these mistakes in the future. That video was great!

What, that is what beroida look like? I have been thinking of them as "sea potatoes," because they show up as opaque white blobs in these photos, but in the video they look so delicate and iridescent.
