#radiolarian colony with "weird hat"

This guy's body looks just like what I've been marking radiolarian colonies and I see others have done so too. But now here's one with a head! Aargh!

Yes, it is a #Radiolarian #colony. It is just bent at the end so you see the colony overlapping itself which makes an illusion of more animals. It definitely isn't a feeding behaviour.

Is this two separate animals? The size of the end ones is so different. Maybe #behavior eating??

I've answered on the Help board too.. It is just a bent colony, no eating behaviour for sure 😃

Indeed, most radiolarians don't actually feed. They host symbiotic algae which photosynthetise and provide them some of the glucids produced
